John studied piano from the age of 5 at the Watford School of Music. Having had a thorough classical training there, he went on to continue his studies at the Royal Academy of Music as a B-Mus student. He decided to stay for a fourth year on the new Jazz course, created by composer, Graham Collier. After leaving, John like many of his fellow students, went on to experience all manner of musical projects and jobs. For more information see the other Musician related pages.
In May 2019 John was invited back to the Academy to receive his ARAM (Associate of the Royal Academy of Music) in recognition of his contribution to music.
